QUINCY -- The Quincy Salvation Army says more than 400 meals will be purchased for area families in need thanks in part to a young girl's lemonade stand.
Grace Hendrian and her sister, June, organized a lemonade stand last month as a fundraiser for the Quincy Salvation Army. The stand also featured a variety of baked goods, coffee from Starbucks and Bailey's Coffee House and Fudge Shop.
Donations poured in, and after 10 days the stand had raised $1,097.
"We are thankful Kellea and Adam are raising their children with such generous hearts," Area Cmdr. Maj. Andrew Miller said in a news release. "Her donation will make a major impact on the lives of many. Her $1,097 donation will provide over 400 meals for area families in need."
