PAYSON, Ill. -- The Payson Seymour volleyball team rebounded from losing the first set Thursday night to knock off Southeastern 22-25, 25-15, 25-17.
"It was a really great, competitive match," Payson Seymour coach Teresa Loos-Tedrow said. "Very fun to watch."
Abby Wolfmeyer led the Indians with nine service points along with five aces, while Abby Coonrod had 10 kills and Carly Wolf had nine kills. Kaylee Burgess had 29 assists and Livia Perry added eight digs.
Taylor Wagner had seven kills and three blocks to lead Southeastern, while Rylie Whitaker had six kills and eight digs. Rebecca Goldizen had 10 digs.
Back-to-back wins for Pirates
Abby Baumann led the Hannibal volleyball team with seven kills in a 25-8, 25-12 victory over Bowling Green at Korf Gym. Peyton Utterback added five kills, while Bella Falconer had three aces and four kills for the Pirates (2-0).
Chargers keep on rolling
Megan Harrell had six kills and Taylor Pence had 16 digs as the Illini West volleyball team beat Havana 25-22, 25-12 Thursday night in the Prairieland Conference opener. Karli Artman had 13 assists and 12 digs for the Chargers (11-3, 1-0 Prairieland). Ava Bliss and Hallie Ray had three kills apiece.

Panthers see depth pay off
Despite having three starters out with injuries, the Central volleyball team used its depth to manufacture a 25-21, 25-14 victory over West Hancock on Thursday night. Mady Wear had three aces and 10 service points, while Kennady Marlow had five kills and five blocks and Mikayla Crim had four kills and three blocks. Cydnee Houston led Central with 11 digs.

Hornets roll past Tigers
Faith Boylen and Gabby McGath had six kills apiece as the Brown County volleyball team beat Meredosia-Chambersburg 25-17, 25-10. Katey Flynn added four kills and eight digs for the Hornets.
Saukees dig up sweep
Chloe Watson had 17 digs as the Pittsfield volleyball team beats Brussels 25-17, 25-23. Cassidy Poor had four kills for the Saukees.
Tornadoes serve up victory
Kaitlyn Leenerts, Ashley Waters and Sophie Bennett each had five aces as the Griggsville-Perry volleyball team knocked off Jacksonville ISD 25-14, 25-7.
Wildcats stumble at home
The Triopia volleyball team knocked off Western 25-12, 25-18. Sadie Abney led the Wildcats with seven kills.
