Prep softball: Bowling green comes back to beat Hannibal

Bowling Green 11, Hannibal 7: After garnering a 3-1 lead, Hannibal allowed seven runs in the fourth inning as Bowling Green pulled away and earned a win in Bowling Green, Mo.

In the fourth inning, the Pirates (5-5) committed two errors and allowed six hits, one of which was a grand slam home run that capped off the inning and gave the Tigers an 8-3 lead.

Sydney Hart led the Pirates with three hits and two RBIs.

Kylie McAfee took the loss for Hannibal. She pitched all six innings and allowed 14 hits while striking out three.

North Shelby 15, Madison 0: Natalie Thrasher allowed just two hits and struck out four batters in four innings to lead North Shelby to a shutout win in Madison, Mo.

Thrasher also did damage at the plate. She brought in the game's first runs when she sent a ball right up center field for a two-run triple igniting a seven-run first inning for North Shelby. The Raiders never looked back as the mercy rule was enacted in the fourth inning.

Thrasher finished with three hits and four RBIs on three at-bats.

Highland 9, Louisiana 0: Payton Miller collected three hits and three RBIs and struck out four batters to lead Highland to a win on the road in Louisiana, Mo. Miller also brought in the first run of the game for Highland on a sacrifice fly in the first inning.

The Cougars scored two more runs in the third inning, highlighted by an RBI-double from Miller.

Highland scored four more runs in the fourth inning, thanks in part to another RBI-single from Miller.

Gwyn Murphy combined with Miller to pitch the shutout.

Putnam County 6, Scotland County 1: A big third inning for the Putnam County all but secured a loss for Scotland County at home in Memphis, Mo.

With the in a scoreless tie, Scotland County (2-5) allowed five runs thanks in part to two errors and a walked batter.

The Tigers never recovered, as they only collected three total hits on the day.

Clark County 15, Mark Twain 0: It took Clark County just three innings to score 15 runs in a home win over Mark Twain.

Kiara Brunk collected three hits and three RBIs and stuck out two batters to lead the Indians (6-6).

Alexis Ellison also added three hits and three RBIs for Clark County.

Palmyra 15, Moberly 0: Lydia Althoff struck out four batters and allowed just two hits in a shutout victory for Palmyra on the road in Moberly, Mo.

Bailey Lovelace's two-run double got things going for the Panthers (6-1) in the first inning. Palmyra continued the pressure by adding five more runs in the second inning, highlighted by an RBI triple from Abbey Redd.

Marion County 14, Wellsville 4: Halle Keilholz hit two doubles and struck out nine batters to lead Marion County to a win on the road in Wellsville, Mo.

Keilholz finished the day perfect at the plate, going 4-4.

Karissa Kennedy and Mackenzie Crook each went 3-4.
