QU volleyball sweeps C-SC

The Quincy University women's volleyball team picked up its second win of the season with a 25-2, 25-15, 25-17 road victory over Culver-Stockton College on Wednesday.

Emily Rehagen finished with 13 kills and 12 digs to lead the Hawks (2-7), while Sarah Brown had 11 kills and Alaina Rothermich had six assists.

Madison McClain led the Wildcats (7-7) with nine kills and Jasmine-Marie Corn had 15 digs.


Wildcat women shut out William Penn

The Culver-Stockton College women's soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory over Heart of America Athletic Conference foe William Penn University on the road on Wednesday.

Amanda Gebheim and Emma McKinstry both scored for the Wildcats (7-1, 1-0 HAAC), with Gebheim converting on her only shot and McKinstry going 1 for 3.

Kehley Bitzas picked up the shutout by recording eight saves.


C-SC men fall in conference opener

The Culver-Stockton College men's soccer team lost 3-1 in its Heart of America Athletic Conference opener on the road to William Penn University on Wednesday.

William Penn (4-2, 1-0) scored just before halftime and just after the half for a 2-0 lead and despite a goal from Javier Magallon in the 69th minute the Wildcats (2-6, 0-1) couldn't respond.

Nicholas Luciani recorded 11 saves between the post for C-SC in the loss.


Blazers tie with Heartland

The John Wood Community College men's soccer team finished in a scoreless tie against Heartland Community College on Wednesday.

Jake Happel and Carson Provenzano recorded the shutout for the Blazers (3-5-1), recording three saves in the process. John Wood was outshot 16-15 but had more shots on goal (5-3).


JWCC women fall to Heartland

The John Wood Community College women's soccer team lost in a 3-1 decision to Heartland Community College on Wednesday.

Abbie Reis had the lone goal for the Blazers on an assist from Sydney Norris.


Raiders third in quad

The Quincy Notre Dame girls golf team finished third in a quadrangular at Gold Hills Golf Club on Wednesday with a score of 211.

Hana Knuffman shot a 42 to place third individually.

Macomb was the meet winner with a 211, led by medalist Emma Thorman's 36.


Chargers win home meet

The Illini West boys golf team finished first in a home meet against West Hancock and Unity on Wednesday with a score of 172. Jackson Murphy was meet medalist for the Chargers with a 36.

West Hancock shot a 179 to place second, and Drake Hammel was second individually for the Titans with a 41.


Tornadoes swept by Routt

The Grigsville-Perry volleyball team lost 25-10, 25-10 to Jacksonville Routt on Wednesday. Kaylee Spender and Kaitlyn Leenerts both had five digs for the Tornadoes.
