PITTSFIELD, Ill -- Five people suffered minor injuries after a three-car crash on Saturday morning north of Pittsfield.
The Illinois State Police said that a maroon 2003 Chrysler driven by Rebecca S. Buhlig, 33, of Perry, was heading east at 10:59 a.m. on U.S. 54, a half mile south of 270th Street, when it failed to reduce speed and struck a silver 2015 Nissan driven by Haley M. Thiele, 25, of Pittsfield, who was slowing in traffic. Thiele's vehicle was pushed into a white 2017 Volkswagen driven by Ferol D. Hillebrenner, 78, of Pittsfield, who was making a left turn into a private driveway.
Buhling, Thiele and Hillebrenner reported minor injuries, as did Klayton L. Miller, 23, of Pittsfield, a passenger in the Nissan, and David R. Curren, 65, of Griggsville, a passenger in the Volkswagen.
Buhlig was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Assisting at the scene were the Pike County Sheriff's Department, Pittsfield Police Department, Pittsfield Fire Department and Pike County Ambulance Service.
