Area roundup: Pirates take three-set match from Bruins

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Kaylee and Bella Falconer combined for 17 kills and 30 assists to lead the Hannibal volleyball team to a 25-18, 22-25, 25-18 victory over Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge on Thursday night at Korf Gym.

Abby Baumann added five kills and 14 digs, while Emma Deien recorded six kills, four aces and six digs for the Pirates.


Chargers sweep aside Commandos

The Illini West volleyball team earned a 25-16, 25-20 victory over Abingdon in Prairieland Conference action.

Megan Harrell had 10 kills, while Hallie Ray and Ava Bliss added five apiece for Illini West (21-4, 4-0 Prairieland). Karli Artman finished with 20 assists for the Chargers.


Mustangs outlast Panthers

The Unity volleyball team picked up a 26-24, 17-25, 25-21 victory over Central in a West Central Conference North division game.

Krista Schrader had 13 kills and Kyra Carothers added 10 kills for the Mustangs, while Maya Furhman had three aces and 23 assists for Unity (16-6).

Kennady Marlow recorded five blocks and Heidi Turner recorded 13 digs for Central.


Indians exact revenge on Titans

The Payson Seymour volleyball team avenged an early season loss to West Hancock with a 25-10, 25-18 victory in a West Central Conference North Division matchup.

Carly Wolf and Abby Coonrod each recorded nine kills for the Indians, while Kaylee Burgess added 16 assists.


Eagles dispatch Saukees in two sets

The Liberty volleyball team picked up a 25-19, 25-14 victory over Pittsfield as Kenzey Wagner had eight digs and Paige Knuffman finished with seven kills and seven digs.

Chloe Watson and Chloe Lemons each had eight digs for the Saukees.


Wildcats down Wolves in PCC matchup

The Western volleyball team earned a 25-17, 25-8 victory over Pleasant Hill in a Pike County Conference match.

Olivia Campbell led the Wildcats (7-16) with six kills, while Haley Flores added four. Braylee Anderson had three points, an ace and a dig for Pleasant Hill.


Hornets sweep Rockets

The Brown County volleyball team earned a 27-25, 25-21 victory over Rushville-Industry as Kaci McKeon had 23 digs, three aces and 18 receptions.

Katey Flynn added 13 kills and three aces, while Kacy Dunlap and Gabby McGath had 10 assists each.


Suns struggle in sweep

The Southeastern volleyball team lost to Monmouth-Roseville 25-10, 25-14. Taylor Wagner recorded three kills for Southeastern, while Rebecca Goldizen and Hayleigh Marlow added five digs.


Tornadoes fall in straight sets

The Griggsville-Perry volleyball team suffered a 25-7, 25-13 loss to Carrollton. Kaylee Spencer finished with three assists, while Kaitlyn Leenerts added two kills and one assist.


Wildcats struggle against No. 14 Eagles

The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team suffered a 25-20, 25-8, 25-13 loss to 14th-ranked Central Methodist in a Heart of America Athletic Conference game match at Charles Field House.

Elena Duru had eight kills for C-SC (7-15, 2-10 Heart) and Ellie Packer added nine digs.
