Woman, two girls injured in crash north of Edina

EDINA, Mo. -- A woman and two girls from Rutledge were injured in a Tuesday morning crash north of Edina.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 2010 Ford F-150 driven by Jessica C. Shulatz, 30, of Rutledge, was traveling south on Old Lake Avenue, 2 miles north of Edina, at 6:53 a.m. The patrol said the vehicle lost control on the ice-covered road, traveled off the left side of the road and struck several trees.

Shulatz and a passenger, a 9-year-old girl from Rutledge, were taken by private auto to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville with moderate injuries. A second passenger, a 6-year-old girl from Rutledge, also was taken by private auto to Northeast Regional with minor injuries.

None of the three was wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

The patrol was assisted by the Knox County Sheriff's Department.
