Married 50 years: John and Jo Cooley

John and Jo Cooley of Coatsburg, Ill., are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Cooley and the former Sandra "Jo" Tuter were married Feb. 6, 1970, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Fowler, Ill. They met while attending Unity High School in Mendon, Ill.

John is a son of Wayne and Elizabeth Cooley of Fowler, Ill. Jo is a daughter of the late Melvin and Dolores Tuter of Loraine, Ill.

They are the parents of Tina Cooley of Coatsburg, Ill.

Mr. Cooley retired after 38 years at Moormans/ADM. He works and volunteers at Blessing Hospital.

Mrs. Cooley retired from GatesAir after almost 25 years. She loves to read.

They both enjoy gardening, mowing the lawn and traveling.

They are members of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Fowler, Ill.

Married 50 years: Merlin and Betty Flesner

Merlin and Betty Flesner of Golden, Ill., are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration dinner hosted by their children, later this year. Mr. Flesner and the former Betty Clay were married March 28, 1970, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church
