QUINCY -- With spring cleaning just around the corner, the Salvation Army Kroc Center encourages all who are planning on having a garage sale to consider being a part of the seventh annual Upscale Garage Sale.
The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4.
"Each year, we have around 30 booths filled with quality new and used items," Special Events and Scheduling Coordinator Naomi Huber said. "It is a win/win for vendors and shoppers. Vendors are exposed to hundreds of people in just a few hours and don't have to worry about the weather, while shoppers have the opportunity to shop for both new and used items in one location without having to drive to several different locations."
Vendors from the area are also encouraged to participate in the event.
In the past, companies such as Thirty-One, Pink Zebra and Tupperware have participated in the garage sale.
A 10-foot-by 10-foot booth rental fee is $35. A 10-by-20 booth is $70.
Booths needing electrical access, which are limited in availability, can be rented for an additional $10. Booth payment must be made by March 27.
Space is limited and vendors are encouraged to reserve their booth spaces as soon as possible.
Following the event, participants will have the option of donating their unwanted merchandise to the Salvation Army Family Store rather than moving it again. The Family Store truck will be on site to accept those items.
Admission is $1 for non-Kroc Center members. Kroc members will receive free admission.
