RENSSELAER, Mo. -- Five people were injured Wednesday afternoon when a truck struck a tree in Ralls County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 2004 Ford F-250 driven by Alissa L. Ruhl, 20, of Hannibal, was traveling east on Big Creek Lane, 0.7 mile east of Route H, at 3 p.m. The patrol said the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Ruhl was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital with minor injuries. Four passengers -- Miranda L. Haynes, 19, and Christian D. Williams, 24, both of Hannibal, and Caleb M. Worrell, 19, and an 8-year-old girl, both of Monroe City -- were taken by private vehicle to Hannibal Regional with minor injuries.

All were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

The patrol was assisted by the Ralls County Sheriff's Department.
