QUINCY -- An investigation continues into a reported shooting Thursday on Quincy's northwest side.
The Quincy Police Department said officers were called at 10:38 a.m. to the 400 block of Chestnut in reference to a shots-fired call.
Upon arrival, police said a potential suspect matching the initial description provided to officers was found at North Fifth and Chestnut,
Officers attempted to contact the person, who reportedly fled on food and was believed to enter a vacant house on North Fifth south of Chestnut. The house was surrounded by police, who later determined that the person was not inside.
No damage or injuries were reported, and police said no suspect information was available.
