QUINCY -- A Canton, Mo., man faces charges in a four-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at 36th and Broadway.

The Quincy Police Department said a vehicle driven by Aaron D. Ellison, 26, of Canton, was heading north on 36th approaching the intersection with Broadway at 3:41 p.m. and struck the rear of a stopped vehicle, causing a chain reaction involving two more vehicles.

Based on an investigation by QPD officers and the driver's behavior, along with witness statements, QPD said the at-fault driver, Ellison, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Ellison and the driver of one of the other vehicles were taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital. The other two drivers refused medical attention at the scene but sought care on their own for minor injuries.
