PITTSFIELD -- A Pleasant Hill man faces multiple charges in several burglaries and thefts in both Pike and Calhoun counties.
Kyle A. Pressnall, 34, was arrested Monday on charges of burglary and theft from both counties, as well as a Pike County warrant for failure to appear at sentencing.
The Pike County Sheriff's Department said it served a search warrant on July 22 in the 400 block of Mill Street in Milton in a burglary, theft and methamphetamine investigation.
Upon arrival, the department said that Pressnall was seen leaving the site, and a sheriff's deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop because of an active warrant. However, Pressnall reportedly fled from the deputy at speeds exceeding 100 mph, and the pursuit was terminated near Panther Creek in Calhoun County.
The department said that working with the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department, it sought Pressnall, who was a suspect in burglar and theft cases in the two counties.
His vehicle was found in a field between Crooked Creek Road and Ill. 96 in Calhoun County, and the search continued with the assistance of Illinois State Police Air Operations and local residents for several days.
Pressnall was found Monday at a home on Bee Creek Road in Pearl.
The Sheriff's Department said an investigation determined Pressnall entered sheds and homes stealing a Kubota diesel RTV, chainsaws, tools, pole saws, fuel, a firearm and food, with most of the property pawned at pawn shops throughout the area.
The investigation continues, and additional charges are pending.
Pressnall is being held in the Pike County Jail.
