QUINCY -- A $1,000 reward is being offered by Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest in the homicide of Patrick Forbes.

Forbes, 65, died Friday in the intensive care unit at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was found with injuries consistent with blunt force trauma Nov. 16 in his apartment at 1340 N. Fifth. Forbes was taken to Blessing Hospital before being transferred to St. Louis.

The Quincy Police Department had been investigating the incident as a home invasion but has since reclassified it as a homicide investigation.

Police are also conducting a second home invasion investigation in the same building. A 58-year-old man was alone in his residence Nov. 27 when two masked men reportedly entered and beat him. The man was treated at Blessing Hospital and released.

Anyone with information on the case should call the Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at 217-228-4474 or submit a tip by visiting www.quincycrimestoppers.com. Tips can also be sent in by texting TIPSQRCS and the information to 274637.

All three options are anonymous, and anyone who submits information will be eligible for the reward if it leads to an arrest. Information must be submitted through Crime Stoppers to be eligible for the reward.
