Driver of horse-drawn buggy injured in crash north of Canton

CANTON, Mo. -- The driver of a horse-drawn buggy was injured Monday morning after it was struck by a vehicle trying to pass it.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the buggy, driven by Inez Yoder, 37, of Canton, was heading east on Route F 5 miles north of Canton at 8:30 a.m. when a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Sandy J. Morlang, 34, of Monticello, Mo., struck the back of it.

Yoder was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., with moderate injuries. Morlang was not injured.

Assisting were the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, Lewis County Ambulance, and Canton Fire and Rescue.
