A Christmas Carol

QUINCY — QCT will present the return of live theatre Dec. 9 to 13 and 17 to 20 with Charles Dickens’ timeless tale of human kindness. Adapted by playwright Christopher Schario, A Christmas Carol tells the story of the redemption of a human soul. Six actors bring to life the ever-powerful story of Scrooge, a lonely miser, who, through the help of spirits and visions from his past, present and future, finds a second chance to become a loving, generous human being.

The cast includes Darwin Smith as Ebeneezer Scrooge; Quinton Miller as Tiny Tim; Kevin Williams as Bob Cratchit and Marley’s Ghost; Mark Hespen as Fred, Fezziwig, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Old Joe; Emma Figge as Gentlewoman No. 1, Fan, Mrs. Fezziwig, Belle, Martha Cratchit, and the Laundress; and Gretchen Wolfmeyer as Gentlewoman No. 2, the Ghost of Christmas Past, Mrs. Cratchit, and the Charwoman.

“This particular adaptation is extremely faithful to the original source material while also highly theatrical in its use of only six actors playing over 20 roles,” said Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen. “Dickens’ Christmas ghost story will be a memorable part of the holiday season and a reminder to care for our fellow man, as we are all connected on life’s journey. This lesson feels especially poignant for our community at this time.”
