Don O'Brien is a general assignment reporter. His primary responsibilities are courts and crime, and he also covers the Quincy Park District. He also writes columns twice a week, appearing on Tuesday and Friday. He has been with The Herald-Whig since Jan. 6, 1997. He was in the sports department, including 14 years as sports editor, before moving over the news side on Aug. 26, 2012. He and his wife, Stacey, live in Quincy and have two sons, Derek and Reid.
