Hot rod show for cars older than 1965 set for riverfront, Quincy Raceways

The third annual Rockin' Roddin' Reunion, a traditional-type hot rod show for 1965 and older vehicles, will be held Friday and Saturday on the Quincy riverfront and at Quincy Raceways.

The event will kick off Friday night at Kutter's Bar and Grill, 236 N. Front. A free public street party, with the Bible Belt Sinners from St. Louis performing, will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Saturday's event will be held at Quincy Raceways. Show gates open at 9 a.m. along with spectator gates opening at 11 a.m., with the show concluding at 11 p.m. A full-day admission pass is $5 per person. Hot rods can register the day of the show for $20.

Live entertainment begins at noon with three bands. The first to play at 1 p.m. will be a local group, the Texas Funerals, followed by the Rat Rod Kings and the Bible Belt Sinners from 4 p.m. to midnight. The event will host a swap meet, car show, food and drinks, along with the Slow Drags at 1 p.m., followed by the Mile Mini Bike Race at 2 p.m. and the 60 Foot Sizzle at 4 p.m.

Sponsors of the event are Refreshment Services Pepsi, Quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Delta Tire, Advance Auto Parts, Matco Tools, Powder Coat Plus, Metal and Speed, and America's Best Value Inn.
