LOUISIANA, Mo. -- Six people were injured at 4:16 p.m. Monday when two pickup trucks collided at the intersection of U.S. 54 and Route UU southwest of Louisiana.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 1999 Dodge pickup driven Lloyd W. Cunningham, 16, of Louisiana, failed to yield at a stop sign and turned into the path of a 2001 Dodge pickup truck driven east by Bradley J. Dorn, 54, of Woodstock, Ill. Cunninghan was traveling south on U.S. 54, while Dorn was heading east on Route UU.
Injured were Cunningham and his passengers, Elizabeth E. Francis, 14, and Emily M. Francis, 16, both of Louisiana. Also hurt was the other driver, and his passengers, Janet S. Dorn, 50, and Magdalena S. Dorn, 12, both of Cary, Ill. Each was taken by Pike County Ambulance to Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana for treatment.
Police said no one in the Cunningham pickup truck was wearing a seat belt, while all the people in the Dorn pickup truck were wearing seat belts.
