Bigfoot, one of the legendary stars of the monster truck world, will be at Quincy Raceways this weekend for the annual tribute to big wheels and eardrum-shattering horsepower.
Checkered Flag Productions will be offering fans the likes of Bigfoot, Ghost Rider, Raminator, Defender, Eliminator and La Chica Loca. Shows are at 7 p.m. Friday, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday.
First-year track promoter Ken Dobson is looking for an exciting weekend.
"I really believe that these shows are going to rank up there with the best monster truck events Quincy has seen," he said. "We have an outstanding lineup of national-caliber trucks, and it's headlined by the one and only Bigfoot. It doesn't get any better than that."
Big Ed Beckley of Checkered Flag Productions said fans should notice a difference from previous shows.
"We've thrown away the rule book," he said. "This lets them turn the horsepower up on their trucks. There is no maximum engine size, no weight minimum … this will let the trucks get some really big air, which is what the people want to see."
Advance tickets are on sale at Casey's General Stores in Quincy, Mendon and Camp Point. Advance tickets also include free admission to the pre-race pit party.
The event will be held rain or shine.
