A Quincy woman was seriously injured Tuesday night when she walked in front of a car at 10th and State while she was talking on her cellphone, police said.
Angie M. Lockwood, 39, of 1012 State, was in critical condition early Wednesday morning, according to a Blessing Hospital spokesman.
Quincy police reported Lockwood was crossing the street from her parked vehicle on the north side of State in front of her residence at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday when she walked in front of an eastbound 2003 Mitsubishi driven by Grace Will, 18, of 824 S. Eighth.
Police said Lockwood was not walking on a crosswalk. She was ticketed on a charge of illegal pedestrian use of the road.
